The little shoe shaped button is on both sides you basically just tap it.

NP, it's actually quite nice and the adjustments on it were a breeze... Good thing about this one is it will fit on my service model and my compact...

I finally got around to getting pictures of my XDs with the Crimson Trace Laser Guard installed. I havent shot it yet with it installed, but from handling it, it not intrusive like some are. The activation swith is on the front strap, so when you grip the pistol, the laser comes on. It is light weight and adds hardly nothing to the weight of the pistol. The only thing I found I don't like about it is that it has no exterior on/off switch like my Crimson Trace Laser Grips have. Now I have to search for a holster of some sort, just in case Illinois passes some type of concealed carry.

Default Installation note

FYI - I have the same version of the XD 45 and I used insert #2 for mounting.
