Thank God somebody woke her up to it's real worth...and real surprised they didn't just take it and destroy it !!

I agree shooter. I would have lost money on it, but I would have bet they would have laughed all the way to the melting pot.

I'd like to know the rest of the story also Teddybear. In the link it said the gun was in bad shape and would not shoot if it had ben loaded. I would like to see before and after pics of the old war horse.

I actually handled a Sturmgewehr 44 at a PA gun show...it had a bullet hole dent in it right above the magazine.

Can you imagine the story behind that weapon...!!??





According to some records, only 425,977 were ever built.

man that is cool. even a non-working example has to be quite valuable. not so sure about every modern rifle being based off this design is a true statement.

A little more on the Sturmgewehr 44 that was found.
That type was the predecessor to the AK 47.
