Default DIY XD tactical slide lightening and gunkote
Did a slide lightening and gunkote on my Tactical. Drill press, Dremil, and hand files.

looks good hope it holds up, i owned 2 of the ported 9mm xd models back 10 yrs ago, and both slides cracked on them, SA replaced them with a non ported barrel and slide the 2nd times

Yea those ported slides would do that. The lightened slides haven been doing that though. My thinking is, it was the gasses coming out of the ported barrel that would cause the slide to crack at the ports.
