Great thread. I can learn a thing or two on how you choose your XD. By the way RevV, have you decided which one to get?

Thanks for all the input, friends.

I ordered the XD Mod 2 with 5 inch bbl. and I plan to upgrade the trigger since this will be a range gun. Will post pics when it arrives.

I don't like light triggers on my CC guns, and I'm pretty happy with the stock trigger on my other Mod 2 and XDs.

RevV, I know I'm late but just wanted to share the feeling, I haven't been looking at anything other than Mod 2's. Obviously, the whole idea of the mod 2 is they took the standard XD platform and added all the "mods" that gunsmiths said were commonly done to the standard XD.
The mod 2 just has that "perfect" fit for me, and most of my friends that have shot mine say the same. Some went out and bought themselves one or two.
I had a couple Glocks, great guns, just never felt "great" in my hand. I have a Ruger SR9c, LC9s and new American compact 9mm. I'd say my mod 2 is the best, for me, with my American compact and SR9c being tied for second.
How are you liking the 5"? What caliber did you get? I've been looking at getting the 5" tactical in 45, the 3.3" 45 and the XDe

The Mod 2 is a good choice, I bought one about three weeks ago, a 9mm in FDE and a 3.3" barrel, real good shooter I might add. I also have the 45 acp XDm 3.8, for the 45 I really like the grip texture on this gun, and I shoot it better than any 1911 style platform I've ever owned. Back to the Mod 2, as of today I've put 200 rounds through this gun and I like the gun. I can't say that I like it better than my ol XD 3.3 but I'm sure after I put some more trigger time in it will be right there with it. Also I sent SA all the forms for the free mags, 2 flush fit and 2 extended, holster and mag pouch, and received it this week. This is a great deal so take advantage if it. Regards,

Joe

Raven and Wvjoetc,

Thanks for your input. The XD Mod 2 is my favorite platform also. I prefer it to Glocks and 1911s. Both 1911s and Glocks are great, but every shooter is different, and for me, XD Mod 2 works better than anything else on the long list of guns I've owned or shot.

I have 2 Mod 2s. A 3.3 inch chambered in 45 ACP, and a 5 inch 9 mm. I typically carry either the 3.3 45 ACP or a XD-s in 9 mm.

Nice!! I prefer the bi-tone. I just picked up the Mod2 45acp 4.0 Service yesterday. Shoots lovely. It's all black as they haven't made that model in bi-tone yet . Probably going to tear down the slide and paint it like a Tungsten Cerakote or Duracoat. Nice collection you got there!

Thanks, Raven.
We'd all like to see a pic of your slide when you finish it.
