My new toy. Savage mk2 in .22lr. Nikon Prostaff 4-12x scope with Leupold rings. Off a sandbag it will put bullets through the same hole.

The Nikon was not cheap at $200 but its super clear and gathers light well. Its a good value for the money.

I've tried lots of loads, from mild to wild but go back to this for woods deer hunting. Low recoil and drops deer like lightning.

    44 grains Accurate 5744
    250 grain Hornady .452 XTP
    MMP 45/50 short black sabot
    Federal 209A primer

I also like to use a Barnes .451 225 XPB with the same components, but it does cost a bit more per shot.

I load these bullets in .45 Colt, so I always have some on hand.
