The 44 mag is my favorite caliber but I agree it's too much gun for self defense,unless it's a charging bear or rhino . I sure wouldn't want to get shot with it.

Which 1, I currently have 2,a T/C G2 Contender rifle and the Desert Eagle? I wish I had my old Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk back.

Buddy of mine had the .50AE...shot that a few times !!

Heavy...but my boy stands 6'5" and weighs a solid 260...so, it ain't nuthin' to him.

I'm real happy with it,it is heavy though,but after using the G2 pistol with 14" barrel and scope for years I don't think much of it. I haven't ever shot a 50 cal,but the 35 Rem. is quite a handful,probably about twice the recoil of a 44 mag,but I love it.

The only 44 mags I have at the moment are the T/C Contender rifle and the Desert Eagle but I'd love to get another Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk with the 10 1/2" barrel.
