Back in the 1970s, my grandmother had a .25. It was a Beretta. She let me shoot and clean it once year.

It was about as reliable as a politician's campaign promises. Never put a box of ammo through it without a few jams (FTE/FTF). I don't know the history on her .25; it might have been abused, or may have been a lemon.

Won't admit how many thousands of years ago, but in the Army I carried a chromed Baretta .25 semi-auto backup gun... against regulations, of course, but nobody complained (at least, not out loud).

A decade later, my ex-wife quietly took the little pistol when we divorced.... drat! Nice, surprisingly dependable, piece of hardware (the pistol, not the ex!) that provided an extra bit of "peace of mind," so-to-speak.

Damn Mark...that's vindictive !!

I would have gunsmith stripped it and handed over a plastic bag full of the parts...minus the firing pin and a screw...so that she could never use or sell it.

Here's something to look at while you pine away for that sweet relic...
