LOL The first time I ever fired a 1911 (over four decades ago) was in the Army. I was a skinny kid right out of high-school, and my defensive-tackle-sized instructor (with arms as big around as my waist) demonstrated one-handed firing, and made it look easy.
I fired three quick rounds... the first hit the target, but the next two went straight up in the air! He grabbed the sidearm from me and threw me off the range... oh, well
I eventually got the hang of it, and actually improved to the point that I spent a year as an alternate on the 3rd Army Pistol Team (back when we HAD a 3rd Army!)
Good memories.

Still have the 3rd Army.
The HQ's is about 25 miles from me at Shaw AFB S.C. with contingencies in the Middle East.
Circle A is around.

Thanks! Once upon a long ago (when I was very young), the HQ was at Fort McPherson (actually inside the Atlanta city limits at that time), which was little more than an office complex on the edge of a huge golf course. We considered the place simply a country club where general officers came to process their retirement paperwork LOL
