Nice knife and kit Mancino...I really have found you can get a real nice knife for a very fair price now. I have a couple of nice Cold Steels I got for under 30 bucks each and they are Damn nice. Great find!

Thank you. I have found the same. Everything I buy knifes, guns etc I have a purpose for. I do love cold steel. I know this sounds wierd in a gun forum but I do enjoy throwing knives and the cold steel true flight throwers are my favorite. I also own a recon 1, ak-47, kukri and a couple others from them.

MM, very nice choice! I added it to my "wish list" over on Amazon. There are a lot of good value knives out there that will do the job well without spending $200 +. Enjoy and thanks for the tip, (no pun intended).

I've gotten on a knife binge myself lately. But it was a lot of "window shopping" and not a lot of buying. Over the last couple months I have added two brand new unissued Polish bayonets which are cherry, a Marto Brewer Explorer Survivor, and now by way of generosity of a buddy, the Shrade SCHF9. I have the Marto up on Ebay, since it is so rare, the prices are up there. Figure if it sells I can buy a few other knives I want. If it doesn't, I'll keep it and pass it on to my son.

I suggested a Shrade to a buddy of mine, though it was still out of my budget for a few days at least, and he sent return email saying that "You talked me into it" and he'd bought one for himself. I told him I hated him..lol.
Next day, I get an email from him that says a new SCHF9 is on the way to my address and due to be delivered on 8-20-13! Wow, what a helluva guy! It's nice to have good friends!

Here are the links to the ones we got. The first is the one he bought for me. The second shows the Micarta scales, that he preferred. I like the look of the Micarta, and still may spring for one of those as well, if I like this knife well enough when it gets here. The sheaths are Denier nylon, but for the money, you cannot beat the quality. And the blades on these knives are .25" thick!

If you enjoy throwing knives these Gil Hibben models are well balanced and throw nicely.
