Smokers, how long before the cravings went away all together?
Never!!!! But is becomes less compelling all the time. But, at least for me, there is always "that moment" that sneaks up now and then. Just step on it's scaly little neck and press on.....

My Girlfriend and I started on our journey to quit yesterday. We barely made it through the day without strangling each oyher. Day two we went to work and are still alive.

Aim Small Miss Small!
I think had we tried to stop together it would have caused some major issues. Both of us irritable is never a good thing.

Tried to quit. I can go 20 hours without a prob. I can go 3 weeks without a prob. I go one month and my face turns purple, people get concerned. I go 6 weeks people start disappearing on my way to work. I go 6 months and the FBI is knocking at my door. I go a year and I'm preggers. So the end result is. I am who I am. I'll quit if I have to. Let me repeat HAVE TO. But please don't make me go more than 21 hours. The patch doesn't work. Gum doesn't work. Only pregnancy works and that is not an option!!

I have the utmost respect for those of you who Will, Can, and Do!!

Sorry, I'm all about Honesty where my "friends" are concerned

First of the year, round about.

I got close yesterday, but took walk instead. I'm being told chugging a big glass of water helps.

Just about anything will work that breaks that thought train. Walking is great because it also give some great cardio exercise.

Good going Austin.

Yea, there are trigger phases (hurdles). For a while it will be like every thirty days. Then three months, a year. Especially if you were a long time or heavy "consumer". . Once you get past that year mark you'll be glad you did though. All you're doing is extending your warranty to have more time with "momma" and the family and that is very much worth it. But I don't have to tell you that. ;)
Stay strong my friend. I have faith in you

You can use all the supplements you want but in the end you have to be determined and want to stop smoking.
I quit completely 13 years ago and shortly thereafter noticed I could smell things again and breathe much better.
I always liked the part where taste and smell returned....not to mention being able to breathe better.

Austin, this article should make the most ardent smoker quit.

I think that's my issue. Logically I dislike smoking, it's bad and cost money, but I really enjoy it, so it's almost like I'm tricking myself.

You're not tricking yourself, the nicotine is. Might as well be cocaine or heroin, same kind of chemical and social dependency, High cost, bad for you. Different magnitudes perhaps, but not by as much as you'd think. Get pi$$ed off at the drug if that helps you stay focused.

What you're doing is good and it's worth it. Keep going.
