Okay folks I have a question, been thinking about carrying a backup gun to my XDm 3.8 in .40 S&W. Not because it's unreliable of anything I just like being prepared. Should I carry the compact 3.8 or Xds? Or something else entirely? Was also playing with the idea of a snub revolver.

Three choices for backup.
1. Sig Sauer P938 in 9mm
2.S&W Airweight model 642 38 cal snub nose
3. Ruger LCP .380
I have all three and rotate them out depending on my situation for that particular day.
Would have to say the P938 9mm is my favorite due to it's small size for a 9mm.
The S&W is a good pocket carry with a Desantis Nemisis holster

When I was on patrol, I always carried my Walther PPKS .380 in a sheepskin ankle holster as a back up to my Glock 22. Now that I retired, if I can't do something with the gun I am carrying concealed, I'm throwing the gun at him and running in the opposite direction. ;)

Lol, and if I am alone that would be a good move. I have two kids, 3 years old and 6 months. Sometimes running is not going to be an option. Sorry my original question is kinda vague, wrote it way too late at night.
