My Marlin Model 80 ( circa 1960 ) takes a clip...all my other 30+ firearms use magazines.

Great write up 3T! Owning a firearm is a serious undertaking, regardless of your application. Just my opinion, but every gun owner has a responsibility to know his (or her) firearm from muzzle to grip. Let me add that every gun owner should "at least" know how to clear their firearm in the case of a misfire or malfunction.

Getting a lot of jabber from one of our other forums about how it doesn't matter but it's the same people who look for a negative to post.
The more informed a person is about his weapons and equipment the safer he will be.

Oohhh dont get me started ... had an old friend have not talked to in years - said I never knew I was into firearms etc ... he started bragging about how he goes and trains with the "best" this and that .. and he did the ultimate ... called a Magazine a "Clip"...

I advised him of the correct term - he said that it did not matter he always says clip at the range - i have ceased communications from this guy .
He asked me numerous times to go to the Range with him - NO thanks
