Democratic lawmaker: Obama must 'exploit' murdered childrento get gun control By: Joe Newby In a brutally frank interview with MSNBC's Ed Schultz, Rep.Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) said that Barack Obama needs to "exploit" theyoung children murdered in Connecticut to get gun control legislation passedthrough Congress and accepted by the American public, Breitbart.com reportedSaturday. “I think we will be there if the president exploits it, andotherwise we’ll go on to the next” incident, he said. “These incidents, these horrible, horrible incidents … arehappening more and more frequently. And they will continue to happen more andmore frequently until someone with the bully pulpit, and that means thepresident, takes leadership and pushes Congress," Nadler told Schultz. "As we all know this is a 'never let a crisis go towaste' president and party. And what we now have is Nadler, a powerfulDemocrat, already eager to 'exploit' raw emotions and the massacre of childrenin order to push an issue Democrats have considered politically untouchablesince Al Gore lost his home state of Tennessee, and along with it, the WhiteHouse, during his 2000 presidential bid," John Nolte wrote. After the shooting, Obama told the nation that"meaningful action" on guns would be forthcoming "regardless ofthe politics." Obama did not specify what action he would seek, butliberals have already expressed a desire to see all handguns banned. Nolte characterized the gun-grabbing Democrats as"mercenary opportunists" who are "always willing to exploit eventhe most unspeakable of events if it means any kind of political advantage." The goal, he says, is to disarm law-abiding Americans inorder to make them "docile, vulnerable, and most of all, dependant ongovernment for everything, including the ability to protect ourselves and thosewe love." Nadler also took his traveling freedom-grabbing road show toCNN, where he told Piers Morgan that the NRA are "enablers of massmurder" for supporting the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. "We have a lobby, the leadership of the NRA, whofunction as enablers of mass murder. And that's what they are. They're enablersof mass murder," he said. Nolte warned of a tough, "Orwellian" fight asliberals gear up the propaganda machine in an attempt to "turn 'guncontrol' into compassion and opposition to it into gun nuttery."
