I just recently bought me a new unfired XD9 3" subcompact from my uncle that he won on a raffle. It does not say Mod. 2. How can I tell if it is a Mod. 2 or not? What is the difference between the two? Mine came in case with holster, 13 & 16 round mags, mag holder, mag loader, lock and cleaning brush.

Of it were a mod 2 it would say it on the gun. You would also see the grip zone branding. It would also have the fiber optic front sight.

The mod 2 is the anniversary updated version of the original xd model.... which sounds like what you have.
