Well by the description of his job while on active duty he is an intelligent man so he knew what he was doing and how it would affect those whose identities he stole. I would have thought that the sentence would have certainly been more than what he received. I can't imagine doing this to anyone especially anyone that you had served with. I had my birthdate and SS number that was being used by an illegal immigrant and only found out when the IRS asked me if I was still working at a Mexican restaurant that I had never even been in. I asked for this person's info so I could pursue prosecution but the refused to give it to me. I then asked them if they would be pursuing him and I was told that they did not have the manpower to pursue every case of ID theft. Keep your info as private as possible these days.
