Today is the first day of Spring.

YEP it's springtime.

Residents in and around the Anchorage Bowl....be aware.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ANCHORAGE HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 5 AM AKDT TUESDAY.

* LOCATION...ACROSS ALL OF THE ANCHORAGE BOWL...EAGLE RIVER AND HILLSIDE.

* SNOW...12 TO 18 INCHES...TONIGHT THROUGH EARLY TUE MORNING.
HIGHEST AMOUNTS ALONG THE HILLSIDE.

* TIMING...EXPECT PERIODS OF LIGHT SNOW THROUGH THE AFTERNOON AND
EARLY EVENING HOURS WELL AHEAD OF THE LOW. AS THE LOW NEARS
PRINCE WILLIAM SOUND AND COLD AIR BEGINS TO BLEED ACROSS UPPER
COOK INLET OVERNIGHT...SNOW WILL BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES. THE
HEAVY SNOW SHOULD PERSIST THROUGH MONDAY AS THE LOW BECOMES
STATIONARY. THE HEAVIEST ACCUMULATING SNOW SHOULD START TO
DIMINISH LATE MONDAY NIGHT AS THE LOW WEAKENS...THOUGH SOME
LINGERING PERIODS OF LIGHT SNOW COULD CONTINUE INTO TUESDAY
MORNING.
