I have been invited to go boar hunting - I have only fished -

Remington 700 - with scope - or just bring AK

I know there are numerous people here with High level experience with hunting .

I kindly take any tips or advise -

I would opt for the 700 with the scope. But then my eyes are way older than yours and iron sights are out.

Hope you have a great hunt. Keep us posted on the results TinMan.

Tin Man, my always favorite is bolt action 30-06 for hunting anything bigger than a rabbit! That being said, what ever YOU are competent with is a good choice consider the ballistics needed to take it down and GO FOR IT. Here in Alaska and in Africa you MUST consider what else is put there to EAT YOU! Have fun and stay safe! As CallMaker said consider your optics for the game, terrain, and personal choice! I like a scope.

    Tin Man,
I have never hunted Boar myself, however from what I have heard from folks who have, they are not the easiest game to kill and can get kind of irate when wounded. I would suggest leaving the AK at home for this one, I don't believe 7.62 X 39 has quite the punch.
Just my opinion I'm sure there is someone out there that has more experience than me that can steer you in a better direction, I tend to believe in over kill if ya know what I mean.

1 question guys - since i am a left draw - i feel comfortable holding the rifle left / I know the shell will eject on the right -

So is there a proper way ? right / left ?

The best way would be on your dominant eye side. However the final choice is what feels best to you TinMan.
