I’m back to the forum.

Azcigarman from Cave Creek, AZ and I have returned to the forum after purchasing a pre-owned XDS45 yesterday at the Phoenix Gunshow.

It appears to be in perfect shape and was a consignment through AlphaDog Firearms in Tempe. The two guys there were very helpful and the price was good.

Before we moved here permanently a couple of years ago from Hershey, PA we traveled regularly to our place in Cave Creek and so I had several carry pistols that I had duplicates of so that I was always carrying a familiar firearm. When I downsized my collection the XDS pistols (I also had a 9) were victims of the effort. I have regretted selling them and have been looking for a replacement.

The model 2 seems to be an improvement over the original model (both of which had to be returned to the factory on the recall. This new-to-me 45 has a tritium front sight and rear blackout, a combo I have not used before. The front sight is marked “USA H3 18” but I don’t know the manufacturer.

I have a number of firearms but now my carry pistols are both SIG 365 series, one manual safety and one the SAS model. The XDS is particularly interesting because it is similar in size to those two and to my SIG 290RS.
