Is this normal ? Brand new XD 9 4inch

I agree it looks odd but the explanation I have read is that it's a standoff feature to keep the slide from going out of battery if pressed against something.

Who knows but it sounds good.

Yup that's normal, I was looking at a new XD9 3" at Cabela's and looks the same too!

Have you had a chance to shoot it yet? I think you'll find it will shoot real gooood! Hey 3T I like the Steve McQueen Bullitt car, they sure don't make movies like that anymore!!!

The guide rod sticking out like that had turn me off of purchasing a XD9 Service until I was able to pick one up on the cheap. It still drives me crazy so I am going to purchase the Wolff Guide Rod and Spring kit.
