It's amazing how savage they were in WWII and how peaceful, clean and polite and humble they are now.
Spent 5 1/2 years at Camp Zama as an adviser to the Japanese Self Defense force in the late 80's and earely 90's and enjoyed every minute.Would have stayed longer but got promoted and had to leave my position because of the rank.
