Polls Show More Discontent With ObamaCare

posted by Jason Pye

Oh look, as ObamaCare becomes more and more of a reality toAmericans, the more they don’t like it. According to a new poll from the KaiserFamily Foundation, support for ObamaCare has dropped once again — including a15-point drop amongst Democrats:

Democratic support for President Obama’s healthcare law hasdropped 15 points since November, contributing to a rise in negative attitudestoward the reform, according to a new poll.

Opponents of the Affordable Care Act currently outnumbersupporters (42 percent to 36), according to the Kaiser Family Foundation’slatest tracking survey. Public opinion has switched back and forth since thelaw passed in 2010, and in November, support for the law was 4 percent higherthan opposition (43 percent to 39).

Kaiser attributed the marked slide in support amongDemocrats to a “post-presidential election fade.” In November, 72 percent ofthat group expressed support for the law, compared with 57 percent who feelfavorably toward it now.

Unaffiliated voters saw a similar but less dramatic declinein support, with 32 percent approving of the healthcare law compared with 37percent in November.

There may be some slide in support for ObamaCare amongstDemocrats because the election is over, but perhaps there is something elsegoing on here. We saw the outrage from Donna Brazile about her insurancepremiums increasing. Brazile is apparently still a fan of the law, which evenits architect says won’t reduce premiums, what’s not to say these Democratsaren’t seeing that ObamaCare was sold to them on a false basis based on thefact that insurance premiums keep rising?

The real question here is whether or not Republicans cancapitalize on the continued dissatisfaction with ObamaCare, pointing to many ofits failures as well as coming up with a viable alternative that relies of freemarket solutions.
