Problems with backstrap on XDM 3.8 .45

Firstly, I apologize if this has been covered. I'm as new as one can be here, and couldn't find this topic anywhere in the forum.

I just bought an XDM 3.8 .45 this week, and love it. But I'm not able to remove the pin in order to change the backstrap. Has anyone experienced this? And, does anyone have any pointers? I'm afraid of using TOO much pressure.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy the community!
The backstrap pin in my XDM 4.5 .45 was really tight also. I just made sure I had the correct size drift punch, & gave it a couple of taps both ways to break it loose a bit, and then knocked it out from left to right. It did seem tighter than I'd expected at first.
Mine was pretty tight on the XDM9 and 45. You wont break anything..
Both mine were very hard. I thought I was gonna break it lol used a soft brass punch that was the correct size.
I appreciate the help. Strangely glad to hear that I'm not the only one who had this problem. I'll have to go out after Christmas and pick up a 3/32 punch and change this thing. It's just a tad too big with the 'mid' size that came in it. Otherwise... I absolutely LOVE this XDM.

Thanks again.

You will LOVE it with the smaller one if the mid size is too big. I had the same issue and wow what a diff the back strap makes !!!
