Well, it appears that Springfield Armory is thinning out the legacy XD offerings for 2016. On the XD page of their website, they only show the Sub-Compact, Service and Service w/ Thumb Safety. No more Compact or Tactical models... Also, it appears they will only be offering them in black from now on; not even Bi-Tone. I noticed over the years, they seemed to be quietly discontinuing the (seemingly) less popular calibers, variants and colorways but this looks to be the biggest change.

It kinda feels like the winding down of an era to me.

Does seem a bit strange but have to say Springfield has come out with a lot of new products .
