It really p's me off to see the local merchants using Veterans Day to line their pockets. As a veteran this is my day to remember all those that paid the ultimate price protecting this great country and those that had the good fortune to have survived. God bless our Veterans...

My VFW post has done a ceremony at our towns largest park on Nov. 11th at 11:00 AM for at least the 35 years that I have been a member. Today We also had an old car show, food vendors etc. the Post handed out 1,000's of Buddy Poppies at the event. Sad, some people had no idea what they were or why we handed them out. Some people even refused to take one.
