The article is a prime example of hair splitting.
What the government giveth, the government can taketh away.
Just like the Eighteenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States was later repealed by the Twenty First Amendment, the Second Amendment could be repealed by a disenchanted Congress, signed by a hostile President, and ratified by two-thirds of the state legislatures.
It isn't likely to happen anytime soon, but it could happen at some point in the future. Best we keep that in mind and remain vigilant lest the less sane among us push the politicians over the edge (with a little help from the news media), and they do something really stupid like they did in 1919 and 1920.
