Amen... the .44 Special is a great caliber...and softer shootin' than the .44 Magnum. But, I always buy a .44 Mag frame should I want the extra power at hand...like in bear country.

I imagine,they are here too but I have a couple 44mags,a 35 Rem. pistol and a 30-06 rifle for the real nasty ones,like the 1 in my avitar.

I've done that lots of times by accident (missed it) with a .22 but they run away,maybe I wasn't close enough. I know it works on frogs though . Maybe the Desert Eagle or 35 Rem. Contender would work better .
