I just thought I would post a few pics of the toy I bought for my wife a couple days ago. I normally dont like these little cars but this one caught my wifes eye and what wifey wants, wifey gets [within reason]. Its not a new car but then again I never buy brand new autos. This is in great shape for its age and runs like a scalded cat.

Its a little muddy in the wheel wells from the ride home. I bought it from a guy that lives near my lake house and I had to drive down a gravel/mud road several miles after I bought it. It will be my wifes in town, summer car so it will never see those muddy roads again.

How could I say no to a smile like that?

After I bought this Eclipse for the wife I fell into another auto deal. This time it was for me. I had ben driving a S-10 for years now and not that it was a bad truck, I just wanted to get a fullsize truck again. After all I am not getting any smaller, hahaha.
Well yesterday I found this full size, short box, 4x4 and for the price I had to buy it. Yes I know its not as new or as fancy as some of the trucks on the market, but I feel for the price I have in it this one is in pretty good shape. Usually trucks are all rotted out in just a few years up here in the snow/salt belt.

Anyway, here are a few pics. I should have waited to take pics until after I washed it, so its still dirty in these pics.

Its a 97 Austin. I cant believe how good of shape it is in for a 16 year old truck, that has spent its life in the north.

Its running well Austin. To answer the milage question it has 140 thousand on the clock. The way it looks its hard to believe there are that many miles on this truck. I remember a day when a auto hit 100 thousand and was considered wore out. Now-a-days 250tho [as long as its maintained] is not a big deal. My how times have changed.

I agree. It's not unusual to see them keep kicking for a long time.
My '91 is showing 91K but its on it second trip 3 years ago I blew a gasket and like a fool kept running it until I saw frothy oil and decided I needed to have a total rebuild( the coolant would eat the bronze). other wise I'd still have the original engine. I had my body shop buddy look at it and the cancer is minimal!

That's awesome. I've never had a vehicle go that far.
Yabbut look at the difference. You look about mid 20's in your mug shot and I'm turning 65 in a few days, also I GOT the vehicle only 5 years ago so some one else took a lot of care of it before it fell into MY hands.

(the yabbut is intentional like a rabbit)
