Didn't find any discussions on this so I thought id start it,

I've been eyeballing the E's for awhile now , really like them , But I'am a 45 acp man . I like my S model , in 45 acp.
ok question is ,,,,,,
Do you think they will bring the E out in 45acp? and if so how long do you think??
I totally enjoyed them bringing the S's out in 45 first , but I really like the hammers exposed , manual safeties .

what do ya think????

I bought my wife an XDE in 9mm.
She loved it! Hits everything she aims at.
Just waiting to after Christmas to treat myself to the XDE in 45acp.
I own a XD mod. 2 in 45 acp compact and love it. Since I lost 25lbs it was getting harder to conceal. I hear a lot of griping about XD's being ugly. As long as hit what i aim at and do without any malfunctioning in thousands of rounds fired who cares!

My local gun dealer orders directly from Springfield Armory he told me no problem to get one just throw down the deposit and in two weeks it's here. Gallery of guns shows 83 in stock. The trigger on the XDE 9mm is considerable crisper the than the model 2 XD. The first double action pull is deliberately long but follow up single action trigger pulls are fairly short and crisp. You will not want to put it down. It is extremely accurate and is a natural for my wife to shoot and conceal. She was shooting S&W 357 but is much better at follow up shots now.

When first met my wife she had a real problem of me sleeping with a loaded gun on the night stand.
One day while we were shopping in Phoenix I had to tell her get my gun out of the car and bring it to me NOW! She walked through the door with a 45 acp in her hands and the bad guys giving the owner a bad time immediately left through the back door. She realized then and there that a handgun was the best piece of "conflict resolution" available to the average citizen. She started shooting with me every week. Eventually she was able shoot (quite well) while I yelled, shouted and shot into a target beside hers.
She will turn 65 in January we've together for 25 years.
She packs everyday because she knows how many crazy dope addicts are out there.
Seniors don't like being victims we don't heal as quickly as the average 27 year old thug!

Like its 9mm sibling, the new .45 model sculpts XD-E “point and shoot®” ergonomics into a sleek 1-inch wide polymer frame to eliminate printing, with a 3.3” Melonite-treated barrel for ideal concealability.

The Low Effort Slide (L.E.S.) requires 27% less effort to manipulate compared to striker-fired handguns in the same class. Chambering a round has never been easier thanks to the patent-pending hammer design. The result is far fewer slipped pulls, and easier operation for possibly life-saving operation when it counts. Active grip texturing engages every part of the operator’s hand, with three different surface grains to provide secure control of the weapon and a uniquely comfortable fit.

For customers who are hesitant to carry a striker-fired pistol in their waistband or handbag, the XD-E offers an undeniable set of safety features that will give new shooters the confidence to carry concealed. The visible external hammer allows you to both see and feel gun mode for added safety and confidence, and the loaded chamber indicator provides the ability to both see and feel if a round is chambered. The double action trigger has a smooth, yet long and intentional trigger pull giving shooters a sense of comfort while carrying on the go, while the follow up shots from the single action trigger are light, crisp and accurate.

An ambidextrous thumb safety/decocker and magazine release is designed for both left and right-handed shooters in mind and various options for mode of carry. Active grip texturing engages every part of the operator’s hand, with three different surface grains to provide secure control of the weapon, and the confidence of a sure grip.

For easy sight acquisition, the XD-E .45 features high quality steel sights right out of the box. The fiber optic front sight paired with a low profile white-dot rear, provides a positive sight picture that’s easily picked up in low light conditions. The serrated rear surfaces help to reduce glare. The 3.3-inch barrel is hammer-forged with a precise 1:16 twist and Melonite treated to match the challenge of constant carry in all conditions. Beneath the barrel, a dual recoil spring system, managed by a full-length guide rod, facilitates steadfast reliability and a soft-shooting feel.

The XD-E .45 ships with a 6-round magazine with “pinky extender” installed, or a 7-round mid magazine with the grip extension, personalizing concealability and capacity. It also ships with an interchangeable flush base plate for maximum concealability.

Everything you want in your reliable daily sidearm, now in your first-choice caliber.

Yep it's all that and more. The only thing I've changed on mine was I went to the Meprolight single dot tritium sight. The stock sights are very good. The point and shoot ergonomics are excellent and become quite deadly when coupled with a single dot night sight. My wife is getting one for her XDE 9mm on her birthday. Once fitted and sighted you can remove the front sight. They sit lower than the stock sight and can double as a emergency slide racker.
