Since most of my competition the last long while has been in IDPA my XDm's are setup for minor power ammo, with lighter than original recoil springs. Lately, I've started to shoot some USPSA matches again and want to setup one of my 5.25's in .40 for major power ammo. What recoil spring weight are you using successfully with what bullet / power factor ?
With a 180 gr. truncated cone bullet at about 130 power factor I've been running 14 lb. springs but wonder if that won't abuse the gun when I step the velocity up to around 170 power factor.
